Applying After Kindergarten

All children within the first trimester of first grade  (through November) are eligible to be part of the  Spanish Immersion lottery.

Follow the District-Wide Application Process to enter  your child in the lottery to be selected to join the  Spanish Immersion program.

In the second and third trimesters of 1st grade, and  in 2nd-5th grades, students must demonstrate academic  Spanish skills in order to be considered to join the  program

Students who start Spanish Immersion in Kindergarten or early first grade experience the most linguistic, academic, and social/emotional success in the program.

Students who may still experience success in the  Spanish Immersion program when joining the program after the beginning of first grade include those  who have acquired academic Spanish language skills,  as demonstrated by passing a screening administered at Gage Elementary.

Contact Principal Kris Davidson via email to set up a screening.
