Student Support
Student Services provides Special Education services to approximately 2,500 students ages birth to 21. The Student Services certified and support staff include Special Education Teachers, Paraprofessionals, Licensed School Nurses, Office Health Staff, School Counselors, School Social Workers, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers, School Psychologists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Occupational and Physical Therapists, and Mental Health Practitioners. Lead Teachers and Specialists provide support with instruction, curriculum, due process, behavior management, and assistive technology.
- Early Intervention Services are provided in the natural environment for students ages birth through age two.
- All elementary, secondary, and alternative schools provide services to students with special education needs. The majority of students receive services at their neighborhood school.
- Base school programs are offered in the disability areas of Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
- Phoenix Academy, a Setting IV program for students in kindergarten through age 21, is located at the Educational Services Center.
